Dans la cinquième édition de son Observatoire IFOP des réseaux sociaux, l’Institut Français d’opinion Publique note que pratiquement 8 internautes français sur 10 (78%) sont inscrits sur au moins un site communautaire.
Les internautes français jouent la carte de l’éclectisme, puisqu’ils sont en moyenne présents sur 2,9 réseaux sociaux, contre 1,9 en 2009.
Donnée intéressante établie par l’IFOP : même si Facebook demeure le site communautaire le plus connu (94% des internautes affirment connaître ce service), devant YouTube (92%), Copains d’Avant (88%) et Meetic (86%), il n’est pourtant pas celui auquel le plus de Français adhèrent.
En termes de taux d’utilisation, les internautes français privilégient avant tout le service Windows Live de Microsoft (52%), grâce surtout à sa messagerie instantanée Messenger.
Arrive en deuxième position Copains d’Avant (46%), puis seulement Facebook (43%) monte sur le troisième marche du podium.
Où se situe Twitter dans ce palmarès établi par l’IFOP ? Si le service de micro-blogging est tout de même connu par 80% des internautes français, ce réseau social n’est utilisé que par 7% d’entre eux. Un sacré écart…
Du côté de la protection de la vie privée, les informations personnelles les plus divulguées sur ces réseaux sociaux restent sa photo, son adresse e-mail, son nom de famille et sa date de naissance, qui ne prêtent pas à polémique.
L’enquête de l’IFOP révèle également que 43% des internautes sondés ont déjà essayé de supprimer des données privées. Mais triste constat : 1 internaute sur deux n’a réussi qu’en partie à faire effacer ces informations, et 14% ont totalement échoué.

| L’enquête a été réalisée à partir d’un échantillon de 2015 personnes, représentatif de la population internaute française âgée de 18 ans et plus. La représentativité de l’échantillon a été assurée par la méthode des quotas (sexe, âge, catégorie socio-professionnelle) après stratification par région et catégorie d’agglomération. Les interviews ont eu lieu par questionnaire auto-administré en ligne (CAWI – Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) du 15 au 22 septembre 2010. |
