Samsung ne cache pas son ambition d’augmenter sa visibilité en France en cette fin d’année sur le marché très prisé des smartphones, notamment avec des modèles comme la nouvelle gamme Wave et le fameux Galaxy S.
A l’image de l’AppStore d’Apple, comme beaucoup de constructeurs sur le secteur des mobiles « intelligents », le fabricant asiatique a lancé sa propre plate-forme de téléchargement d’applications dédiée à ses terminaux sous son OS Bada, le Samsung Apps, qui fête aujourd’hui son premier anniversaire.
Lancé en septembre 2009, le Samsung Apps est désormais disponible dans 109 pays. Cette boutique compte quelques 1100 applications. On est encore bien loin des 250 000 applications de l’AppStore ou des 100 000 recensées sur l’Android Market.
David Eberlé, le directeur du service mobile de Samsung France, rappelait la semaine dernière, lors d’une conférence de presse, que 2,5 millions de téléchargements d’applications Samsung ont été comptabilisés en France, soit environ 300 000 téléchargements par semaine.
A l’échelle mondiale, le constructeur sud-coréen précise que 14 millions de téléchargements d’applications depuis le Samsung Apps ont été enregistrés.
Les applications disponibles sur la plate-forme maison de Samsung sont surtout axées autour des jeux (comme sur l’AppStore d’Apple), les réseaux sociaux, les e-books et les services liés à la santé.
Pour assurer la pérennité de ses smartphones, le fabricant asiatiques prévoit, ces prochains mois, de publier des applications plus régionales. Ce qui devrait permettre de se rapprocher des attentes des mobinautes en intégrant des informations locales s’appuyant sur les caractéristiques culturelles, pays par pays.
