Facebook cherche à simplifier la suppression des comptes
Facebook planche sur la création d’une nouvelle option au sein de son réseau social permettant de faciliter la suppression définitive d’un compte utilisateur.
Facebook, fort de plus de 500 millions de membres dans le monde, ne cesse depuis quelques mois de remodeler ses paramètres de gestion des données personnelles face au mécontentement grandissant des utilisateurs, d’élus et d’associations de consommateurs concernant la protection de la vie privée de ses membres.
Pour aller plus loin, le réseau social américain travaille actuellement à l’élaboration d’une nouvelle fonctionnalité permettant de supprimer définitivement son compte utilisateur.
Cet outil, encore en phase de test, permettra d’effacer son profil en quelques clics, ainsi que toutes ses données (photos, vidéos) qui ont été partagées avec ses « amis » sur le site.
« Nous testons constamment de nouvelles idées, comme l’intégration de nouvelles fonctionnalités. Un de nos essais les plus récents concerne les différentes façons de supprimer un compte […]« , a confirmé un « représentant de Facebook » au site TheNextWeb.com.
Une bonne nouvelle pour tout les déçus du réseau social de Mark Zuckerberg, car c’est encore la croix et la bannière pour parvenir à se désinscrire de Facebook.
La procédure de suppression d’un compte est en effet laborieuse. L’onglet de désactivation n’est pas clairement indiqué : il faut aller le chercher au sein des paramètres de règlages de son compte.
Il faut ensuite donner les raisons de ce départ et procéder à de nombreuses validations pour confirmer la suppression de son profil. Une fois ces étapes franchies, il faut tout de même attendre quatorze jours avant que cette demande de désinscription ne soit effectivement prise en compte par Facebook…
