Google vient de racheter la start-up américaine BlindType, qui a développé une technologie de dactylographie prédictive pour les téléphones mobiles à écran tactile. Le montant de la transaction n’a pas été annoncé.
BlindType a ainsi mis au point un clavier virtuel s’adaptant aux smartphones, en particulier aux iPhone sous iOS, et capable d’accélérer la saisie de messages et de SMS en anticipant ce que le mobinaute va taper.
Le système est ainsi capable de déterminer les mots que le mobinaute veut utiliser, même si celui-ci a commencé par taper les mauvaises lettres du mot.
Sans surprise, la firme de Mountain View devrait rapidement utiliser cette technologie au sein des prochaines versions de son OS mobile Google Android.

D’abord le clavier virtuel ne s’adapte pas « en particulier » à l’iPhone, vu qu’il n’est encore officiellement disponible pour aucun terminal, c’est juste qu’il a été initialement développé pour iOS, puis pour Android (mais vu que Google l’a racheté ^^).
Ensuite « dactylographie prédictive » ça sonne très bien, mais ce n’est pas une technologie prédictive (comme l’est Swiftkey par exemple), il n’y a pas d’anticipation de ce que l’utilisateur va taper, c’est au contraire APRES la frappe que le mot tapé est corrigé, le principe étant surtout qu’il n’est plus nécessaire d’être précis.
