EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA?Derrière ces acronymes barbares se cachent des technologies d’accès Internet haut débit en situation de mobilité. Leur développement vont permettre aux entreprises de favoriser l’usage de services mobiles data à des fins professionnels (courrier électronique, applications métiers, accès à l’Intranet?).
Logiquement, le principal critère pour les différencier, c’est son débit. Presque trois ans après l’introduction de la téléphonie de troisième génération (3G) sur le marché français, les opérateurs lorgnent sur la 3,5 G (sous la norme HSDPA) alors que l’on évoque déjà de la 4G en Asie. Orange et SFR vont prendre réellement position dans le courant du deuxième semestre 2006 en ciblant en priorité leurs clients professionnels. Le réveil de Bouygues Télécom est programmé pour l’année prochaine.
Dans le meilleurs des cas, les premières offres grand public 3,5 G émergeront à l’occasion des fêtes de fin d’année mais il faudra attendre probablement le premier semestre 2007 pour bénéficier du haut débit mobile équivalent à un accès ADSL sur un poste fixe.
