Sur fond de bataille avec Dell pour le contrôle de 3PAR (stockage), HP a procédé à un autre rachat : Stratavia.
C’est un éditeur de bases de données et de solutions d’automatisation d’applications, basé à Denver (Colorado).
Le montant de la transaction n’a pas été précisé.
Selon le groupe acquéreur, l’acquisition de Stratavia viendra renforcer son portefeuille « Software and Solutions » (déploiement, configuration et gestion des bases de données d’entreprise) mais aussi celui dédié aux services cloud et à l’automatisation.
Selon Silicon.fr, les solutions de Stratavia viseront à simplifier le déploiement et la gestion des applications en milieu hétérogène, sur ou hors site, qu’il soient physiques ou virtuels. Un muste pour les data centers.
L’automatisation des tâches de déploiement devant optimiser les opération et réduire les risques d’erreurs.
Créée en 2001 sous le nom d’ExtraQuest, la société a été fondée par Venkat Devraj et Rainier Luistro.
Elle a bénéficié de fonds provenant de sociétés de capital-risque comme Vista Ventures, Asset Management Company et Adams Street Partners.
Fin 2008, Stratavia a étendu sa zone de prospection commerciale en Europe en établissant un bureau à Londres.
