La Google TV étend peu à peu son emprise. Alors que la firme de Mountain View a dévoilé en début de semaine le site officiel de sa nouvelle plate-forme, basée sur l’OS Android et embarquant le navigateur Chrome, c’est au tour d’un de ses partenaires-constructeurs, Logitech, de présenter le décodeur Revue associé et un panel d’accessoires utiles pour profiter au mieux de Google TV.
Vendu 300 dollars aux Etats-Unis à partir de fin octobre, le boîtier multimédia Revue se branche à la fois à la télévision d’un côté, grâce à une prise HDMI, et à un autre boîtier de réception par satellite ou câble de l’autre. Il peut se connecter au Web via le Wi-Fi (802.11 n) ou une connectique Ethernet.
Grâce à Revue, l’internaute/téléspectateur peut accéder aux services proposés par la Google TV : programmes de télévision, Internet, applications disponibles sur l’Android Market, et contenus personnels (photos, vidéos, musique, jeux).
Outre ce décodeur, Logitech met aussi en avant une télécommande-clavier, Mini Controller. Vendue 130 dollars, cette télécommande, munie d’un clavier à pavé tactile, permet de naviguer au sein des services proposés depuis la Google TV.
Quant à la webcam TV Cam, Logitech a annoncé qu’elle permettrait de passer des appels téléphoniques en mode IP en vidéo, à l’image de la fonctionnalité de visioconférence que devrait proposer Skype dans la prochaine version de son service de VoIP. Cet accessoire est vendu 150 dollars outre-Atlantique.
Rappelons que la plate-forme Google TV devrait débarquer aux Etats-Unis avant la fin de l’année, avant d’arriver en Europe courant 2011.
Sony, autre partenaire de la Google TV, devrait présenter dès la semaine prochaines ses premières télévisions connectées spécial Google TV, intégrant un processeur Intel Atom CE4100.

Je vois enfin à quoi va servir la fibre optique: le chat video va remplacer le téléphone, il faut juste ajouter un micro et un écouteur à la télécommande de logitech (nécessaire pour passer en conversation privée).
Est-ce qu’on pourra montrer à son correspondant ce qu’on est en train de regarder à la télé ?

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
