Aux Etat-Unis, Go Daddy Group et ses 43 millions de domaines administrés (8,3 millions de clients, 20 millions de sites hébergés) serait en vente.
La procédure par enchères serait supervisée par le cabinet Qatalyst Partners, dirigé par Frank Quattrone (un banquier spécialisé dans le monde Internet).
Le montant du rachat pourrait s’élever à un milliard de dollars.
En 2006, Go Daddy avait tenté une introduction en Bourse mais il avait reculé à l’époque « en raison des conditions de marché jugées désastreuses ».
Installé dans l’Arizona depuis sa création en 1997, Go Daddy est toujours présidé par son fondateur Bob Parsons.
Outre le dépôt de noms de domaine, la société propose diverses prestations Internet comme des packs e-commerce, des solutions de sécurité et des outils pour aider les entreprises à développer leur visibilité en ligne.
Selon le Wall Street Journal, le chiffre d’affaires de Go Daddy s’élève entre 750 et 800 millions de dollars sur l’année 2009.
En juin, un autre pionnier du Web américain Register.com est passé sous la bannière Web.com.

J’ai été surpris d’entendre çà parce que le secteur du nom de domaine se porte bien et on tend vraiment vers un marché florissant dans les années à venir étant donné la rareté de certains noms de domaine …

One thing I’d really like to say is that often before purchasing more laptop memory, look at the machine in to which it could well be installed. In case the machine will be running Windows XP, for instance, the memory limit is 3.25GB. Adding greater than this would purely constitute a waste.
