L’extension haute disponibilité de Novell dédiée au système d’exploitation SUSE Linux Enterprise est une suite de logiciels permettant de créer aisément un cluster Linux redondant composé de serveurs physiques ou virtuels.
L’éditeur s’allie aujourd’hui à HP afin de proposer une offre spécifiquement dédiée aux serveurs ProLiant et BladeSystem, ainsi qu’aux systèmes de stockage StorageWorks, note Silicon.fr.
« L’extension SUSE Linux Enterprise Server HA (High Avalaibility), associée aux serveurs HP, fournit aux clients tout ce dont ils ont besoin pour supporter leurs traitements Linux critiques », explique Christophe Tonnerre, directeur datacenter chez Novell France.
« Nous offrons à nos clients conjoints la possibilité d’exploiter plus de traitements virtuels, d’assurer la continuité de service et de réduire leurs coûts d’exploitation. Cette offre combinée par Novell et HP simplifie l’accès à nos solutions et propose un point de support unique. »
Particularité de cette offre : elle sera fournie sans coût supplémentaire par HP (et ses revendeurs) jusqu’en juin, avec certains contrats de support SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
