En cette fin d’année, AOL continue de faire son marché. Après avoir mis la main en septembre dernier sur TechCrunch, 5min Media et Thing Labs, le groupe Internet vient de racheter la start-up américaine Pictela.
Le montant de la transaction n’a pas été dévoilé.
Créée en 2009, Pictela édite une plate-forme et des services permettant de gérer et de distribuer en ligne et en direction des médias sociaux des contenus publicitaires à valeur ajoutée et en haute définition (images, vidéos, applications).
La jeune pousse spécialisée dans la diffusion de publicités « on line » compte parmi son portefeuille de clients des marques comme Gucci, Best Buy, les grands magasins Macy’s, Gillette, H&M, Nike, National Geographic ou encore Kitchen Aid.
Pour développer son business, Pictela a aussi noué au fil des mois des partenariats avec des éditeurs en ligne comme AOL, son nouveau propriétaire, Yahoo, Microsoft, Glam media, Undertone et The Wall Street Journal.
Cette acquisition devrait permettre à AOL de renforcer son offre de publicité en ligne en direction des annonceurs.
Suite à ce rachat, les équipes de Pictela continueront de travailler sous cette bannière et de manière autonome, en restant séparées de l’activité « Advertising » d’AOL.
