Le stock d’adresses IPv4 arrive à un seuil critique.
Selon la NRO (Number Resource Organization), il ne resterait que 5% d’adresses IPv4 en 32 bits de disponibles, soit moins de 215 millions, sur un total évalué à 4,3 milliards, selon les informations données par l’organisme qui fédère les cinq registres en charge de l’allocation des ressources.
En avril dernier, le taux de stocka restant d’adresses IPv4 culminait à 7,8%.
La demande du marché chinois, un des principaux pays qui attribue des adresses IPv4, explique, en partie, cette pénurie annoncée.
Conséquence prévisible de ces réserves bien limitées : une pénurie d’adresses IP sous cette forme devrait survenir dès début 2011.
Il est donc urgent de basculer de façon plus intensive vers le protocole IPv6, en 128 bits.
Dans cette perspective, et pour repenser le réseau Internet mondial, la Number Resource Organization appelle les administrations, les gouvernements, les FAI, les entreprises et les opérateurs à se mobiliser pour mettre enfin en œuvre le déploiement massif de l’IPv6.
