Technicolor donne un coup de fouet aux Bbox TV de Bouygues Telecom
Bouygues Telecom et Technicolor ont mis au point une nouvelle interface TV et un nouveau logiciel (Linux et Flash) pour les décodeurs Bbox afin d’en améliorer l’expérience utilisateur.
Technicolor, ex-Thomson, améliore l’expérience utilisateur des 525 000 clients Bbox ADSL de Bouygues Telecom, en misant sur l’évolution de l’interface et de la plate-forme TV des décodeurs du FAI.
Le fournisseur français a ainsi mis au point une nouvelle interface Bbox TV associée à un nouveau logiciel pour les décodeurs de type DBI 8500, développés par Technicolor et utilisés par les abonnés Bouygues Telecom aux offres triple et quadruple play.
Bouygues Telecom s’est des son côté chargé de l’évolution de nouveau portail TV, actuellement disponible. Technicolor a apporté son expertise pour adapter l’évolution matérielle à ce nouveau service.
Le fournisseur français a ainsi dû réadapter sa plate-forme IPTV Smartvision à la nouvelle interface en intégrant un nouveau logiciel, sur une base Linux et Flash. Celui-ci est progressivement déployé sur les Bbox du parc de Bouygues Telecom par téléchargement.
Ce nouveau logiciel et la nouvelle interface TV améliorent l’utilisation du décodeur TV de Bouygues Telecom en boostant la fluidité et la rapidité de l’accès aux différents services, ainsi que la navigation entre les chaînes de télévision.
Des nouveaux services seront proposés d’ici quelques mois, comme des widgets et un Media Center basé sur la technologie DLNA.
Voilà des évolutions techniques qui devront satisfaire le demi-million d’abonnés Bbox, et qui arrivent comme une cerise sur le gâteau des derniers résultats semestriels de Bouygues Telecom. Le FAI, au premier trimestre, a recensé 117 000 activations de comptes Bbox et 97 000 au deuxième trimestre.

Rectification : ce n’est pas Technicolor qui a développé l’interface du portail BBox TV mais des équipes Bouygues Télécom. Technicolor n’est que le fournisseur de la solution STB (Linux+Flash).
