L’avenir s’éclaircit pour le nouveau groupe Wikio, qui ambitionne de devenir « le groupe leader européen du social media ».
Début septembre, le moteur de recherche de blogs et de sites de presse Wikio et la plate-forme de blogs Over-Blog (société JFG Networks) avaient fusionné leurs activités afin de créer un media social d’envergure européenne.
Dans cette nouvelle configuration, E-Buzzing sert de plate-forme de monétisation et Over-Blog garde sa dimension communautaire en fédérant les blogs au sein du groupe Wikio.
A noter que le groupe TF1, qui est actionnaire minoritaire de JFG Networks depuis juin 2006 (il détenait 40% d’Over-Blog avant cette fusion), entre donc au capital du nouveau groupe Wikio.
C’est maintenant au tour de Nomao, le moteur de recherche personnalisée, de fusionner avec Wikio.
Lancé par Frédéric Montagnon en 2007, qui est aussi le co-fondateur d’Over-Blog , Nomao est un moteur de recherche local, qui s’appuie sur la géolocalisation, la recommandation des internautes, les goûts de l’utilisateur et sur ses « amis » Facebook pour proposer des résultats de recherche plus pertinents.
Selon Médiamétrie/NetRatings, Nomao revendique 2 millions de visiteurs uniques chaque mois.
Nomao va donc continuer à se développer sous la bannière du groupe Wikio, comme l’a confirmé Frédéric Montagnon sur son blog.
« Nomao va apporter la dimension locale qui manquait au groupe et va profiter de la présence internationale de Wikio pour effectuer son développement. Le local est un enjeu en soi: C’est par le local qu’on entre sur le marché du mobile, et sur le marché des business locaux. Nomao a trouvé un vrai modèle qui va être déployé massivement grâce à cette fusion », précise son co-fondateur.
En novembre 2009, Nomao avait repensé son actionnariat. Le groupe TF1, qui détenait alors 26% du capital du moteur de recherche personnalisée, avait quitté le navire, et avait été remplacé par Didier Rappaport, co-fondateur de Dailymotion.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
