Comment lever la suspicion liée à l’exposition aux ondes électromagnétiques lors des déploiements d’antennes-relais en zones urbaines ?
Le nouvel opérateur Free Mobile, qui commence à déployer son réseau dans les plus grandes villes (à commencer par Paris), est confronté à cette épineuse question.
A ce jour, les risques des « ondes » issues des antennes-relais n’ont jamais été scientifiquement démontrés mais il est difficile de réunir des conditions permettant d’obtenir une unanimité sur le sujet.
Des associations comme Priartem et Agir pour l’environnement, qui invitent les citoyens à se prémunir des risques d’exposition aux radio-fréquences, veulent faire appliquer le principe de précaution.
Ainsi, la semaine prochaine, il est prévu que le Conseil de Paris examine une délibération permettant à Free Mobile de déployer des antennes-relais sur le domaine public de la Ville de Paris.
Mais la signature de cette convention-cadre suscite une controverse.
Les élus verts de la capitale accompagnés de plusieurs associations anti-ondes (comme Robin des Toits) s’opposent à l’installation des équipements de l’opérateur sur le domaine public, évoquant des risques sanitaires.
Le syndicat d’employés municipaux (Supap-FSU), qui avait déjà marqué son opposition à l’arrivée du Wi-Fi dans les bibliothèques de Paris, s’est également joint aux contestataires.
