Orange sortira bientôt sur le marché français une tablette Android afin de concurrencer l’iPad d’Apple.
Avec cette tablette, qui ne permettra pas toutes les fonctionnalités de l’iPad, l’opérateur français espère bien regagner des parts de marché sur le secteur du multimédia en France et conquérir ainsi, au passage, quelques acheteurs fidèles à Orange.
Selon Les Echos, Orange aurait confié la construction de sa future tablette à un constructeur asiatique, dont le nom demeure cependant inconnu.
Cette tablette Orange proposera d’office des connexions 3G, pour accéder à Internet, et fonctionnera sous Android.
La future tablette Orange devrait être proposée à un prix attractif par rapport à l’iPad pour susciter les abonnements.
Toujours selon le quotidien économique, son prix nu devrait être inférieur à 250 euros (contre 599 euros pour le moins cher des iPad 3G).
Il devrait même tomber en dessous des 100 euros si le client s’engage pour un forfait d’un ou deux ans.
Cette offensive permettrait à Orange de ne plus être cantonné au simple rôle de fournisseur de carte micro-SIM pour iPad pour le compte d’Apple, connu pour être féroce dans les négociations avec les opérateurs.
Rappelons qu’Orange n’en est pas à son premier essai puisque l’opérateur avait conçu la tablette Tabbee pour un usage familial, plutôt présentée comme un « hub multimédia ». Mais ce produit n’a pas séduit le public français.
